Piano Rock'n'Roll sensation Low Cut Connie

Low Cut Connie is an American rock and roll band based in Philadelphia, United States, which was formed in 2010. Think of Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, David Bowie and Status Quo meets Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Billy Joel, Elton John and Ben Folds. The band has been recognized by various media in the US for their records and high-energy live show. Fans are drawn to the band's captivating live performances, sweat-soaked, raucous affairs. Los Angeles Weekly calls their show "unmatched in all of rock right now".

Frontman Adam Weiner plays a piano named "Shondra" and trained his live muscles while living in New York City where he played piano in gay bars, karaoke bars, restaurants and ballet classes. He has toured throughout North America and Europe playing to often unforgiving crowds in dive bars, honky tonks, anarchist squats, warehouses, drag bars, etc.. Weiner started the project that would become Low Cut Connie with former members Dan Finnemore and Neil Duncan. The band's name refers to a waitress who often wore low-cut tops at a restaurant near where Weiner grew up.

Their breakthrough was in 2015, when Low Cut Connie announced the release of their third album "Hi Honey" which was released April 21st 2015 via Weiner's own label "Contender Records". The album was produced by Thomas Brenneck (Charles Bradley, Black Lips, Alabama Shakes) and features contributions from Tune-Yards, Dean Ween, Budos Band and members of The Dap-Kings besides the new band members Connie James Everhart and Will Donnelly. The record received widespread acclaim, including being named #2 album of the year by NPR / Sound Opinions critic Jim DeRogatis.

Recently Low Cut Connie frontman Adam Weiner was invited to meet his hero Bruce Springsteen backstage at the singer’s Broadway show. In Rolling Stone Magazine he recalls: “I grew up in New Jersey in the Eighties, so you do the math”. Turns out Springsteen is a fan of the raucous Philly rock band. He’s not alone. Since releasing their fifth album, Dirty Pictures (Part 2), Low Cut Connie have been winning the best reviews of their career and playing to bigger crowds. Another new fan is Elton John, who interviewed Low Cut Connie on his Beats 1 radio show. “He said that I remind him of Little Richard and the piano players that he idolized when he was young”.

Weiner lives for the shows. He's born to be on stage and really puts a lot into every performance. People go wild and come for the crazy party of their shows but many visitors are feeling very emotional and very free by the end of their shows whether they expected it or not.

You should not miss their European shows in June 2019 including a couple of gigs in the UK, the only German show at Kantine am Berghain on Friday June 14th (more information on the Facebook event page) and a performance at Sthlm Americana festival in Stockholm.
